FINDING OUR PURPOSE IN LIFE
Acts 9:1-16
We might ask, “How do I find and fulfill the central purpose of my life?”
We might also ask ourselves,”Do we really want to know that we are fulfilling the central purpose
of our lives?”
Do we desire to make a difference?
How do we know the truth that is for us?
I. WE MUST SEE THAT JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF OUR CALL V.15
A. Defining the Call
1. Answering the call of God on our lives is the ultimate why for living, the highest
purpose of our living.
2. To know that all we do and all we live for is to fulfill that calling.
B. God Is Seeking Us
1. True seekers are looking for something.
a. It is a life that has come to a point of wonder.
b. As life that is stirred so that they need an answer beyond what they now have or
understand.
c. The secret of finding is not our human ascent to God, but is God’s descent to us.
2. True seekers are loved by God.
a. Agape love - We are loved by God not because we are worthy, but because God
is love.
b. It is this love that brings true satisfaction.
- We cannot find God without God
- We cannot reach God without God
- We cannot satisfy God without God
- We cannot know God without God
c. If there is a chasm to the cross, God must build the bridge!
- This was done by Jesus death, burial, and resurrection.
- All of this is done by God’s grace
We must see that our responsibility does not establish our call or purpose
We have an identity because we are responsible!
There is no calling without a Caller and God is that Caller!
To find that purpose we must listen to the Caller!
